9/25/2026 - Dolly Day
To honor the legacy of Dolly Parton and her long-standing commitment to children's literacy, the PTA poured themselves a cup of ambition and rallied to host the first annual Dolly Day on September 25th (9-25). Mixing fun and philanthropy, students and staff participated in a Dolly-inspired Dress-Up Day and a Fundraiser Challenge benefiting both the League Academy library and Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library program.
Students got to experience the joy of -Giving Like Dolly- as they arrived at school decked out in pink and rhinestones, bearing donations to add to their grade-level collection buckets. For those not dressed for the occasion our PTA President happily helped bedazzle and make festive anyone in need of a little Dolly sparkle.
While our 6th-grade students dominated in-person donations—bringing in three times more than any other grade that day—online donations had also been pouring in all week. When added to the school day totals, these online gifts gave 8th grade a boost that sent them to the top of the leaderboard. As winners of the challenge, the entire 8th grade will soon be rewarded with extra outdoor fun time and popsicles.
A huge thank you to everyone who shared the event or donated. We will always love you for helping to make Dolly Day a success! Through the generosity of our school community, over $1,300 was raised to be distributed between both library programs.
